Start With a Bang

It was a playoff atmosphere as usual with an big game at the TD Garden. Patriots Wes Welker, Vince Wilfork, Jerod MAyo, Brandon Merriweather and Deion Branch who even gave Lucky, the Celtics mascot, an assist on one of his 3rd quarter intermission dunks. Not to mention notorious New York Knicks fan Spike Lee who was booed by the green clad crowd. The C's looked good all around and much better in the 1st half than second but another total team effort got the green past the new Eastern favorites the Miami Heat. Shaq looked spry in his Boston debut but missed too MAny easy shots. Big Baby was a huge lift of the bench and a constant spark plug, even MArquis Daniels looked like the MArquis Daniels from his days in Dallas or Indiana. Our big three looked pretty good considering they are another year older. Two things reMAined constant Ray Allen's shooting and Paul Pierce's role as the leader. Even though Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo didn't shoot well they both provided quality defense and Rondo's 17 assists set the pace for the offense. Their old legs will be tested tonight as they play a back to back in an away game at the new look LeBron-less Cleveland Cavaliers.

Video Worthy Moments

I am going to share something I witnessed today. Now it is for each and every person who reads this to decide whether it is a video recordable worthy moment. While driving to get gas from the Shell Station in Cleveland circle I witnessed a moment truly unique to where I am in life. First a little background. The Brighton and Brookline area of Boston is a pretty diverse section of the city. A unique demographic of our community is the Hasidic Jewish population, for reasons I have never really investigated, is very large in this portion of the city. This sect of the Jewish faith is unique because the men are almost always wearing suits, some variation of a top hat or YaMAka. All men once old enough wear long curls of hair down where sideburns would grow. Now back to my story. As I sat at a stop light listening to Young Khalifa MAn I saw a young boy sprinting by my car. This boy was no norMAl boy but an extremely enthusiastic Hasidic Jew. He was probably about 10 years old and he must have had life changing news with the smile on his mug and pace at which he was motoring through the street. He passed a very portly bearded MAn which he then proceeded to high five mid-sprint. The portly fellow was completely unfazed, which means he must have knew the boy, but to any bystander it looked like a very courageous move by this young boy. Now unfortunately for me and all of you that is the entire story. But hey I highly doubt that anyone who reads this can say they have witnessed such an event! It left me wondering, who was that portly MAn? Why was that kid so happy? What would MAke me happy enough to high five a stranger? Among other things. That is why if I had the time I would have whipped out my video recording device and revisited this 10 second video from time to time for my own enjoyment. It was one of those sMAll but intriguing moments life throws at you when you least expect it.

I mean I don't know how the rest of the world feels but if I were to grade this it was get a B for at entertaining. Watch down below.

6 days.

I am counting down until the huge showdown with the damned Miami Heat. This cover was produced for the ESPN the MAgazine preview of the NBA season. It's interesting they put Shaq on instead of Kendrick Perkins who will go down as one the most underappreciated players on a MArquee NBA team.

Branch Back

There was speculation that Deion Branch could be headed back to New England with the departure of Moss and he is back wearing a new number 84. I know he won't have miraculous numbers or be a Randy Moss type deep threat but he is one of Sir Tom of Locksley's favorite targets of all time. I think that chemistry they have will MAke up for the late arrival to this new Patriots offense. I hope for sure that he plays this weekend against the Ravens. We will need as MAny weapons as possible against Ray Ray and his stingy brethren.

Moss Trade Rumor

It is scary to think that picture is what we are losing. I don't like it at all, he's still great and he MAkes our offense complete. I guess if you are looking for some value for him now is the only time. I think it would do daMAge to our offense and we all know that he will destroy our secondary if he comes back with the Vikings in week 8 at Gilette. I usually trust the moves the Pats MAke because of the success this team has had but as the Jets have proven the times they are a changing.

Crazy Grown Men

The video is Priceless, when you watch it, showing the celtics going crazy to Rick Ross's version of Oh Let's Do It. I mean there are very few teams, if any, in pro sports with this MAny big personalities. That MAkes most "experts" predict potential clashes and problems in the clubhouse but judging by this video I do not see any of that happening. I mean Big Baby, Shaq, Nate Robinson, KG are proving they are just one big happy crazy family. Despite an injury to JerMAine O'neal's hamstring training camp is only bringing more and more anticipation for this upcoming season. Hopefully J. O's injury isn't anything serious, Shaq having to start wouldn't be the most advantageous as far as MAtchups go come opening night.

For some reason the video wouldn't post so go here to see it. http://worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh576zG2EnjDBP9g2m

Hot Damn!

Those two put all the pieces together to get a big AFC East win down in Miami! What an all around effort from the P. Just a great win from a team that really needed one. Pat Chung came up huge as did Rob Nickovich with his two picks! Tom didn't have to do much, and neither did the defense for that MAtter. The special teams combo of Brandon Tate and Pat Chung MAde sure the flying elvis's came home 3-1. The P men now have a bye before a showdown with the team that embarrassed them in the playoffs at home have a chance to be 4-1 with huge wins against three potential playoff teams. Go New England!!!
